I think it’s safe to say that my reading slump is officially over! I managed to read 8 books in August, a mixture of new releases, old releases and rereads. I haven’t managed to read so much in a month in what feels like years, so I’m so glad to have caught up on a lot of books I was really looking forward to reading in August, and I was lucky enough to have enjoyed them all! Here they are!
Heart of Thorns was the first book I read in August, and it was so gripping. It was the kind of book that will make you keep saying “one more chapter” until you finish the book and realise you haven’t moved all day.
★★★★
The second book I read this month was a reread of Rebel of the Sands before I read the rest of the series for the first time, and I was not disappointed with how this series progressed. It had me both wishing that I’d read the sequels earlier and glad that I did wait until they were all released because HOW DID YOU ALL COPE WITH THE WAIT BETWEEN BOOK 2 AND 3?! I barely managed to make myself wait while I wrote my review for Traitor to the Throne before I jumped into book 3. It only got better and better with each book, and I can honestly say that this series is a new favourite!

(You can read my review for Traitor to the Throne here! I’m still in denial about the fact that I finished Hero, but my review will be up soon!)
Nightblood, the third and final book in the Frostblood Saga, came out on the 21st, so I reread the first two books before I jumped into it, and I am so glad I did. I’d almost forgotten how much I loved this series and how much I’d missed the characters, so it was so much fun to revisit them before the last book!
Nightblood turned out to be even better than I could’ve imagined. It’s now my favourite book in the series, and I know for sure that I’ll be rereading it in the future.
★★★★★
(You can read my review of Frostblood here, and Fireblood here, and my review for Nightblood will also be up as soon as I get over my denial that its over!)
I’ve been hearing great things about this series for years now, and if you couldn’t already tell from all the other books I read last month, I was in a major fantasy mood, so I decided it was finally time to see what all the hype is about! This book was so intriguing, and I really like how it follows people from all three kingdoms — there were so many gripping storylines. And that ending! It set the scene for a really interesting book 2, which I am currently reading and liking even more!

What were you reading this August? Do you have any favourites? Let me know in the comments!
I’m so happy that you’ve enjoyed Falling Kingdoms, I’m obsessed with that series, I just need to read the last one to finished with the series and I don’t plan to do it yet, I don’t ready lol
And I need to re-read FrostBlood to finally continue with the trilogy, I loved the first book 😍
