Can’t-Wait Wednesday: The Ten Thousand Doors of January

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.

My pick for this week:

The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow

The Ten Thousand Doors of January

Release date: 10th September 2019

In the early 1900s, a young woman embarks on a fantastical journey of self-discovery after finding a mysterious book in this captivating and lyrical debut.

In a sprawling mansion filled with peculiar treasures, January Scaller is a curiosity herself. As the ward of the wealthy Mr. Locke, she feels little different from the artifacts that decorate the halls: carefully maintained, largely ignored, and utterly out of place.

Then she finds a strange book. A book that carries the scent of other worlds, and tells a tale of secret doors, of love, adventure and danger. Each page turn reveals impossible truths about the world and January discovers a story increasingly entwined with her own.

Lush and richly imagined, a tale of impossible journeys, unforgettable love, and the enduring power of stories awaits in Alix E. Harrow’s spellbinding debut–step inside and discover its magic.

Why am I excited?

Does this book not sound so magical?? And how GORGEOUS is that cover?! I think I need this book in my life. ASAP.

Are there any books you can’t wait to get your hands on? Share them with me in the comments!

  1. This is an Orbit book too, yes? Orbit is just on a roll. My CWW is an Orbit book. They have three books coming this fall and one in the winter that I’m just jumping up and down about!

      1. No problem! I was at the library and there was a feature on 1000 doors… in a trade pub. It always makes me smile when I’ve seen everyone out in the blogosphere talking about a book before a publication.
