My Reading & Blogging Goals for 2020

Reading_Blogging Goals.jpg

1. Read 52 Books

For the past four years, I’ve consistently set my Goodreads goal to 50 books, and finally managed to actually reach it in 2019! So, now I’m going to raise it the tiniest bit and aim to read 52.

2. Catch up on Netgalley books

I have a tendency to go on a requesting spree on Netgalley and then end up with too many books with too little time to read them, so I’m hoping to get on top of all of my Netgalley reviews in 2020.

3. Schedule and plan more blog posts

This is something that I started to do more of in 2019, but I want to be more consistent with my blog in 2020, and hopefully have a better plan of what I want to post and when.

4. Be more social

I reached 300 blog followers at the end of 2019 and I want to interact with you all a bit more! Being a socially anxious person has its difficulties but I’m really hoping to be able to put that aside and show more support for other bloggers this year!

5. Write more reviews

I was the worst at writing reviews in 2019. I hardly wrote any, and I’m so behind on them now. I’m hoping to catch up on as many as I can, and I’m going to make it a goal to sit down and at least make a few notes after each book I finish.

6. Bookmark quotes

I always tell myself that I’m going to use sticky notes in my books to mark the quotes that I love, but I always forget. It would be nice to be able to flip through my books and reread the parts that I loved.

7. Read every day

When I’m at uni, I can sometimes go days without reading a single page. I really want to sit down and read a little bit every night, though. I think it would be good to help me get off my phone before bed, and books are the perfect escapism from the stress of uni!

What are your reading/blogging goals for the new year? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Oh that Netgalley spree… we all know it too well 😀 I currently have 17 books on my Netgalley to-read shelf and I’m slightly panicking (okay, maybe a lot panicking…) 😀

Let’s not even talk about pending reviews. D:

I love your goals, definitely could use some of them as well. Lol
Happy New Year, hun! I hope you’ll achieve all of these in 2020! 🙂

  2. Bookmarking quotes is one thing that I always tell myself that I’m going to start doing and I never do! I should really make this a goal for myself 😂. Good luck with your goals!

  3. Oh Netgalley. It’s a blessing and a curse. I’ve made it a goal to not request any new ARCs. At least until I’m all caught up. I’m hoping to read more books off my physical shelf instead. Good luck to us both! 🙂

  4. Great reading and blogging goals! I haven’t had a proper sit down to think about my 2020 goals yet (I’m such a slacker lol) but one of my major ones will definitely be to catch up on all my NetGalley reads this year! Good luck on achieving all your goals — you can do it 🙂

    1. Thank you!! Catching up on NetGalley seems to be on a lot of people’s goals this year which makes me glad to know I’m not the only one who has a requesting problem 😂
