Hey all! As if another month has come and gone already?! Mentally I am still in April and I actually cannot grasp the fact that we are now in September. August was a little bit of a slower reading month for me, but the books that I did get to were all great reads! Here they are:
Pride and Prejudice was the first book that I picked up this month. I watched the 2005 adaptation during lockdown and I absolutely loved it, and I’ve been meaning to read the book ever since then. I really enjoyed it, and I’m excited to read more Jane Austen novels in the future.
I finally did it! I picked up The Poppy War and it was every bit as incredible as I’ve been hearing people say for months. I’m working on a review and I hope to have it posted later this week!
Dark Days is a short collection of essays on prejudice and racism in America and was part of Penguin’s mini modern classics collection. I read it in an afternoon, and I would definitely recommend it. An added bonus is that each book in this collection is only £1 each!
What did you read in August? Have you read any of these? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!
