Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme hosted by Lauren’s Page Turners where you choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR to talk about.
This Week’s Book:
Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo
This is Britain as you’ve never seen it.
This is Britain as it has never been told.
From Newcastle to Cornwall, from the birth of the twentieth century to the teens of the twenty-first, Girl Woman Otherfollows a cast of twelve characters on their personal journeys through this country and the last hundred years. They’re each looking for something – a shared past, an unexpected future, a place to call home, somewhere to fit in, a lover, a missed mother, a lost father, even just a touch of hope . . .
Why I want to read it:
I’ve been hearing great things about this book ever since it came out, and then it won the Booker Prize and it was everywhere. I recently used up the last of my audible credits and Girl, Woman, Other was one of the audiobooks I got. It’s been a while since I’ve read an audiobook and I’m super excited to finally get to this, so I’m hoping to jump in soon.
Have you read this? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!
