Top Ten Tuesday: My Favourite OTPs Part 2

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.  Each week they suggest a new theme with a list for bloggers to choose from. This week was a romance freebie, and since it’s been over a year since my original Top Ten OTPs post went up, I decided to update it with my newest obsessions.

Cath and Jest from Heartless by Marissa Meyer

heartless

If you’re looking or an adorable romance that’ll break your heart into a thousand pieces, I recommend you read this book. I loved Cath and Jest together.

Scarlett and Julian from Caraval by Stephanie Garber

caraval-uk

I finished this book yesterday and I still haven’t completely stopped fangirling at how amazing and magical it was, and one of the biggest reasons for my fangirling is Julian and Scarlett. They were so cute together and I spent so much of the book on the edge of my seat, waiting for them to just kiss already.

Norah and Luke from Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall

Under Rose-Tainted Skies

These two will forever remain one of my favourite ships. I loved how supportive and understanding they were of each other and I just love them so much.

Amani and Jin from Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

Rebel of the Sands

I adore Amani and Jin, and together they are so awesome. I’m really looking forward to reading more of them in book 2 when I get my hands on it!

Top Ten Tuesday: My Favourite Bookish Shops

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they suggest a new theme with a list for bloggers to choose from. This week was a gift freebie, so I decided to tell you all about my favorite bookish themed shops!

Literary Emporium

Literary Emporium is a great place to find cool bookish things, from jewellery to bookmarks. I have a necklace from there that I got for my birthday this year and I wear it almost every day, I love it so much!

Bookworm Boutique

I love the prints in this shop, and you can get them on mugs and phone cases, too!

Oh Panda Eyes

This shop has the cutest bookish jewellery. I want them all!

Frostbeard

I am obsessed with bookish candles, and I received one from this shop in an Owlcrate box a while ago and it smells divine. Is it acceptable to spend all my money on book scented candles?

My Bookmark

These bookmarks are so great

Not On The Highstreet

I never thought to look on this website for bookish things until a few days ago, but there is so much on there! They have everything!

Appraising Pages

The T-shirts in this shop look so cool, I kinda want to buy them all.

Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I’d Name Something After

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they suggest a new theme with a list for bloggers to choose from. This week was characters I’d name a child/dog/cat etc after, and I have included my favourite bookish pets/sidekick/companion/animals.

Characters I’d name a child/dog/cat etc. after:

Celaena

Just like I love the character, I really liked the name Celaena when I first read Throne of Glass. It’s so different.

Feyre

Another name from a Sarah J. Maas book, I absolutely love the name Feyre. It’s so unique and beautiful.

Aza

A big part in why I love this name is the character Aza in Magonia. She’s amazing – witty, strong – and her story is wonderful.

Lucille

I just think Lucille is such a lovely name! I think I first heard it in Beautiful Creatures – there was a cat called Lucille and I thought it was adorable. And then again in This Raging Light  – the main character was called Lucille, ad I loved her.

Katniss

The temptation to name a pet cat Catniss is real.

Pets/ companions:

Camden – Three Dark Crowns

Camden technically isn’t a pet, but more of a sidekick, but she’s awesome.

Mr Kindly – Nevernight

Again not a pet, Mr Kindly is a shadow cat – he talks  and he is hilarious.

Chairman Meow and Church – The Mortal Instruments

These guys are the best. I can’t decide which cat I love more!

Bambi – The Dark Elements

Bambi is a snake, and a sort of tattoo that comes off and can fight and slither around and has the best personalitly that you can imagine a snake having. I loved her.

Fleetfoot – Throne of Glass

Okay, so Feetfoot is apparently the only pet in this list. She’s Celaena’s puppy in Throne of Glass and she is the most adorable thing.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Want to Read in Audio Book Form

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they suggest a new theme with a list for bloggers to choose from. This week was a freebie theme (All About Audio), and since I’ve only ever listened to two audio books, I decided to write about the audio books I want to read in the future.

Outlander

outlander

I picked up a physical copy of this book after becoming obsessed with the TV adaption, but it has so many pages – it would take me ages to readIt just seems so much easier to listen to it.

The Hunger Games

The hunger games cover

I’ve already read the Hunger Games trilogy several times before, but I’d love to hear how it sounds in audio book form (and be able to re-read on the go).

Throne of Glass

Throne of GlassUK

I’d love to listen to Throne of Glass for the same reason – It’d be great to be able to listen to this series, and especially for re-reads leading up to the next book.

Snow like Ashes

snow-like-ashes

I had a bunch of credits on my audible account to use up a couple months ago and bought Snow like Ashes on a whim. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this series, so I’m excited to get to this!

Ready Player One

ready-player-one

I’ve heard that Ready Player One is really good in audio book form, so I definitely need to check it out!

The Wrath and the Dawn

The Wrath and the dawn

I’ve read and loved The Wrath and the Dawn already, but I’d love to revisit it in audio form!

Thirteen Reasons Why

I had already started this book in audio form a while ago, and I was really getting into it – and then exams happened, so I’ll hopefully pick this back up soon!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I (am) Read(ing) for School

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they suggest a new theme with a list for bloggers to choose from. This week, the theme was Back to School, and I chose to tell you guys about the books I read for school, and the books I am reading/ going to read for college.

But firstly, can we talk about how fast the summer holidays went? I go back to college next Thursday – I’m not ready for that! I haven’t even started any of the homework I was given yet. I’m such a procrastinator.

Okay, so:

The books I have read in school up to now:

Of Mice and Men

Of Mice and Men

If you’ve been through Secondary school, chances are you’ve read this book. And you probably got spoiled on the ending – it was written on the inside cover of the copy I read.

Dracula

Okay, so I should specify that I didn’t read the actual book – just the shortened play script of Dracula – but anyhow, I remember liking the story and wanting to go on the read the whole thing (which I still need to do). And I remember having to write a guide on how to kill a vampire after we’d finished reading it (??).

Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre

I read Jane Eyre last year for college, and I think this is one of the only books I read for English that I really didn’t enjoy (at least after the 100 or so page mark, for whatever reason), which is a pity since I still have to keep annotating and re reading in preparation for the exam next year. I think a big reason why I didnt enjoy this as much was because of the amount annotating and analysing that went into it – it being a longer book, it took a lot of time and I just got so bored. Maybe if I re read in a few years when I don’t have to analyse it so much I’ll like it more.

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

Who's Afraid

I also read this play for college last year, and loved doing so because it was so short and didnt take as long to read and annotate as Jane Eyre did. I’m so lazy.

Books I will be reading in the next year:

Othello

Northanger Abbey

Frankenstein
